Happy Birthday Crystal

I'm not sure if I've shared this or not but I thought I would just put it out there. I saw a card, much better than this one, on Pinterest. I tried doing the masking as well as she did, but wasn't as successful. I decided to use it anyway for a birthday card for my very very best friend in the whole world. She would love it no matter what, like she does me. I'm very blessed to have a friend like Crystal, I don't consider her just a friend she is my sister (blood relation or not!) Happy Birthday Crystal love ya!

Look at What I got!

I am so excited! Steve and I went to Costco's this weekend and he bought me this! A Vitamix 6300. OH MY GOSH! we went nuts buying all kinds of fruits and vegetables the cart was overflowing and I had to rearrange the fridge. LOL I'm going to make my first visit to our Jungle Jim's here in East Gate tonight to pick up on a few things that Kroger's just doesn't carry. And of course drop by my local craft and hobby stores to see what's on sale.

My goal is to try and get Steve to eat more fruits and veggies. I already do a pretty good job at getting my veggies and fruits in, but can obviously do much better.  We made our first smoothie before church yesterday and it really was good and filling. Then for lunch I made a Torillia Soup that was really good and was even hot right out of the Vitamix. If any of you have any good recipes out there please send them my way! This is not going to become an "eating blog" I can promise you that! I just wanted to share my blessing with you!

Stamping and Scrapbooking

Another mixed media style scrapbook page. I used Gelatos, stamps and dies from Stampin up, chipboard embellishments from Basic Grey and letter stickers from Michaels. I'm almost caught up with scrapbooking. Yippee!
This is going to be a busy week for me, I've got lots of projects I need to finish up, several videos to edit, play with my new Vitamix and a workshop on Friday. Oh yeah work 40 hrs at the hospital and two basketball games to go to on Saturday. Thank God for Sunday, a day of praise and worship and REST… Have a great day!

I thought I would share one of my recent completed scrapbook pages. I used a stencil from Balzer Designs, spray ink by Dylusions, Stampin Up butterfly stamps and punch and of course the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. I loved how this turned out. Hope you're having a blessed day!

Working in the Mixed Media Studio

I spent a lot of time at the hospital this past weekend with a friend

and my son. Of course, I had to visit the gift store and there was an adorable canvas of a dog. I had a canvas on my workbench for weeks and just couldn't come up with anything. Well…. I decided to make an "Odie" canvas. My awesome black lab. This is stage one.. I had already prepared the background with lots of layers of paints, papers, stamping and then I cut his shape out using printed card stock. This if stage two.

Stage three, I wasn't happy with making him grey since he is black. so I just kept adding more black, white and grey until I got to the final stage.

This is the final product and I LOVE IT!!! Steve said he loved it too and wants to hang it in his office. I wanted to hang it in the living room LOL Hope you enjoyed seeing what I do in the mixed media studio. Have a great day!

Hexagon Hive and Honeycomb Embossing

I wanted to share a close up of this card. I used the Hexagon Hive Thinlets as a stencil on half of this card and then embossed on the other. I love using my tools in more than one way. Hope you are all having a great day!

I needed to see some flowers today! I don't know if I've mentioned this before but "I HATE WINTER, ICE and DRIVING IN SNOW!!!"
