a little bird told me...

So, this is the canvas I tried filming while doing... I love how it turned out but I'll have to figure out a better way to film when I do involved projects. I used Dina Wakley's paints, stencil and stamps; gelatos and Pitt pens to color. The canvas I got at Michaels in the sale bin for just 79 cents. It was 80% off so of course I bought 6. LOL Have a great day!

FLower Canvas

Hi everyone! The other day I was working on this canvas and decided to share it on here before I took it to Scrappin in the City. I used gelatos for my background colors, stamps from Dina Wakley and other random stamps along with my Pit Pens. I'm really happy with how it turned out. Hope you have a great day!

Ballerina Card

My closest friend called from Ohio and asked if I could make her a ballerina card for a little girl who is playing Clara in the Nutcracker Ballet. Well, this is what I came up with. I pulled an image off clip art, printed it on the Brother toner printer, ran through the MINX machine to foil it,then covered with Nuvo glitter. I embossed the background, added bling, then made a little mesh thinge.. can't think what's its called lol and way I I cover it with bling added a tiny bow and called it a card. Hope she likes it.

DAC# 10

I have had such a good time in the studio this week. I have a few things to share. I tried doing a video of creating one of the mixed media canvas but oh my that is not my idea of fun. My filming area is now clear on the other side of the studio and I had to lug everything over there and well.... didn't happen I erased it! But I will share the finished canvas.

Now, this DAC is not a verse of scripture but I've been up since 3:00 am praying so this was perfect. Hope you are having a great day!!

A Little Scrapbooking

I shared with you that I am on the Design Team at Scrappin In the City a few days ago. So, I thought I would share a some of the projects here and you can also see them over at Pinterest on their board. This one should have been scrapped 2 years ago when Steve and I had the vacation of a life time in NYC. I was sad to leave so I took a picture as we left out the rear window of our taxi bus. We are planning another trip next year with our Enloe family. I used a page out of a very old book I purchased at a thrift store as my background and then cut the letters out of a journal page using the good old Cricut. Hope you enjoy seeing this.

DAC #8

Well, Monday is here... this is my house cleaning and laundry day. ALL finished now to the studio I go.....
First I used up some leftovers to make some cards for donating to Susannah's House , check out their website! www.susannahshouse.org  .I am now a part of the volunteers and I GET TO HOLD BABIES!!!. I made a ton of Christmas cards over the weekend to donate. They will have a sale with different items and the money goes to help the moms buy gifts for their children.
Then, I went to the art table and came up with today's DAC. I felt this verse was perfect for today! Hope you all are having a great day!

Devotional Art Card #7

Hi everyone!
I truly hope you are enjoying seeing my DACs.  I'm so excited that I've found such a cool way to study God's word and do my art. WOW! This card background today is again from an art journal I did while taking an online class. It started out just the stripes of colors, which I believe were watercolors then I stamped backgrounds and used a empty paper towel roll to make my circles. The heart is from a Tim Holtz stamp set. Hope you all have a great fall day. Steve and I are having a CHILI FEST in our community today, a time to get to know our neighbors and fellowship and eat of course. Not sure how many will show up but the ones that are suppose to will. Blessings!!

DAC #6

Week, here is #6.. at first I thought I picked the wrong verse for this card but as I worked on it and kept reading the verse I realized it was perfect. There is no eyes (blinded)  and there is so much going on this card that you can miss the foundation of the card, just like so much going on in the world that we get distracted and miss our foundation which is GOD. I hope you are having a blessed day!

DAC #5

Good Morning everyone!
Today I wanted to work on my new wood canvas so I pulled out this card that I actually did the background several years ago. I felt like it was good just the way it was. I used Marvey markers to do this. This isn't a Bible verse but the scriptures do tell us not to worry and I need to remember to slow down and not worry about tomorrow. Hope you all have a blessed day.

Devotional Art Card

Hey everyone!
I didn't get a chance until late to work on my DAC. I tried something a little different. I did some stamping (which ends up you can't even see lol) then I embossed the card using a Couture embossing folder. Unfortunately it had VERY sharp embossing edges and cut through some places in the paper. That didn't stop me though, I decided it added a new challenge.
It was cool the way the India Ink ran through the grooves, but darkened up the background a little more than I wanted, next time I'll use a different folder and color of ink. but all in all I think it did turn out ok. and as the verse says, "HIS understanding has NO limits"
Hope you had a great day! I spent mine with a new sister in the Lord from our new church, Susan and WOW! we had a great 2 1/2 hours talking and sharing over lunch.
I hope to work on a new canvas tomorrow, it's a wood one and I've never worked on that before. Have a great night!

First Devotional Art Card

Well, I finally got the picture to upload from my phone so, here is the first DAC I did. I used a page out of an old art journal I used while taking a class online. For the life of me I can't remember the name of the class it was so long ago, I only remember I learned a lot about using makers and pens and water colors. Hope you're having a great day!

Devotional Art Cards

Hi Everyone!
The other night I was surfing the net and came across Lynn @ scrappyhappymom.blogspot.com. She is I think the head of a group of women that do Devotional Art Cards. It reminded me of the ATC cards I did years ago. I LOVED this idea because not only could I do my mixed media art I could study God's word at the same time. Oh the bonus, I had my own "flash cards" to refresh my memory of God's word for me on a particular day.  The card below is totally inspired by the work she did, it helped me to get a kick start to how to manage that size surface and she is soooo talented with her ideas, So, THANKS Lynn for your ideas and videos. This is actually the second one I did I'll share the first one next. I actually used  an old art journal I had worked in doing a class about 5 years ago and thought why not cut it up and use it as my base I love the way that one turned out too.
This card has a quote our Pastor shared yesterday during his teaching and I loved it.
I hope you enjoy seeing what I came up with. I used the stamp set Dare to be Artzy for the flower, lots of cheap acrylic paints and my gelli plate for the background, modeling paste, stencils, Distress stains and inks and my favorite black pen to outline. Have a blessed day!!

Christmas Card

Hi everyone, I've been busy organizing the garage now that the weather is cooler. This big move to Tennessee... Oh my ! lots of work. But we are getting there.
Today I pulled a piece of paper out of one of my many Christmas 12x12 pads and decided whatever comes out I'll make some cards.
At first I thought I would pull out a deer die and come up with a plan. Then I saw this bag of chipboard reindeers, who knows where I got them from and here it is.
I used a scallop oval stacking dies from Spellbinders I've had forever, a Stampin' Up stamp for the sentiment (embossed it with gold powder) and even pulled out my Versa-mark pen to go around the scallop edge and embossed with gold. I think it turned out pretty good. I was able to make 6 cards using that one sheet. I hope you enjoy checking it out. I am hoping to post more often. I will post the projects that I do for Scrappin In the City design team as soon as they post them on their site. Make sure to check them out they have an online store as well as a brick and mortar store here in Knoxville.
Have a great day!!!
